Kicking off the week with errands and a cozy Stasia Dress! I made not one but TWO Stasias with 3/4 length sleeves in the fall and i realized I need to get them worn a few more times before the warm temperatures set in. I’m honestly surprised at myself over even adding longer sleeves to a dress, I typically prefer sleeveless or cap sleeve cuts for more temperature versatility. But I have to admit… I do love a good three-quarter sleeve!

The other night I went out to listen to a couple of bands with a friend… and was asked by a girl with her own funky style ‘If I was a teacher.’ She was college-age (ish, I think) and into enjoying St. Patrick’s Day and had seen one of her teachers at the same gig, so thought it was maybe Teachers Night Out 😂😂😂

I’d be a not-great teacher, but I’m happy to dress like one!! Meg from Sew Liberated always says her style is ‘art teacher’ and I just love that imagery!!

I love this outfit — the fleece dress from Torrid and a pair of leggings is totally a lounging-around-the-house outfit… my version of a sweatsuit. By adding just. Few things, it stays cozy but turns totally cute!!

Well. Fiddle dee-see. I feel like my hoop skirts got caught up in the wind.

Also, guys. Revisiting my inability to completely quit Old Navy because #tanktops - I mean. Come on. What on god’s great green earth is better than rose gingham with a nice floral square-neck tank top?

Nothing. There is nothing better. Gingham and flowers for everyone.

Also, also… i pulled out my Keds to run to Staples and print out a pattern tonight and forgot how happy I am — I bought these at the end of last summer and upgraded to the leather version of my fave platform Ked with the converse-like design.

And as a sidenote: alert for anyone planning the Shelby dress from True Bias. I don’t have a home printer because I’m a digital FREAK, so I just get my patterns printed at the shop. I usually do self serve, but couldn’t get the file to work, so the nice girl who works there printed it for me, SO I didn’t see what was getting printed. THIS PATTERN IS 100 PAGES! Most patters seem to be 20-30 and cost me $6 or $7 (ish, I mean, I haven’t looked up the facts) — so I paid $28 to print this sucker. UGH - I am officially going to figure out the large file format which I’ve been too lazy to do. But paying $28 for 3 hours of taping and cutting is. Well. It’s a teaching moment.

Learn from me. Don’t be me.

Let’s file this in the so-totally-obvious-I’m-the-last-one-to-think-of-it column.

This blue denim skirt (that I think of affectionately as my Sunday School teacher skirt) has been in my closet for a while and gets worn fairly often. I like the full-button front for layering, but my mind was BLOWN the other day when I saw someone on here how had rotated her skirt so the buttons lined up over one of her legs instead of straight down the front!

I had to try it.

And I love it. It’s a totally new vibe and just a little bit more interesting that centering. I admit to a bit of oddness when I stopped by the grocery store today and tried to stick my hands in my pockets 🤣

So now I’m envisioning a skirt with TWO button plackets over each leg, but a full cut like this. I think it’d be suuuper cute, though I have to admit that my dislike of both doing buttons AND doing two sets that should line up visually means that perhaps this project will remain in the conceeptual stage for a long time to come…

For now, it’s like my Sunday School Teacher skirt got a whole new life!
